Born in Broken Hill, Steve moved to Adelaide at the age of four, a city that has since become home. He has lived in the Golden Grove and Greenwith area for more than 20 years, where he and his wife are raising their young family and remain deeply connected to the local community.
Football played a formative role in Steve’s early life, until injury ended his playing career and prompted a shift into engineering. At 18, he began his career at the family business, Trymoss Engineering, completing his apprenticeship with top-two honours. By 22, he was appointed Workshop Manager, leading and growing the business.
In his late twenties, Steve invented a new tool for the oil and gas industry, and founded an international business operating across the USA and Canada. His leadership has been recognised through multiple industry honours, including being named a South Australian 40 Under 40 recipient, selection into the Industry Leaders Fund, and the 2022 Colin Peterson Award for excellence in leadership, innovation and industry contribution. He further strengthened his leadership capability by completing Advanced Management and Leadership studies at Oxford University.
Alongside his engineering career, Steve has owned and operated multiple businesses, including companies holding patented intellectual property and a mechanical engineering design and consultancy firm. Across all ventures, his focus has remained consistent: solving real problems, building strong teams, and creating sustainable value.
In late 2024, driven by family health priorities, Steve and his family made the decision to wind down Trymoss Engineering. In 2025, he began the next chapter of his career by gaining his real estate licence and opening Ray White Golden Grove alongside two of South Australia’s most respected agents, returning full circle to serve the community he has long called home.
